A Festival of Nonsense and Children’s Poetry

Performance and reading

Blabbermouths babbling nonstop nonsense. It began as a stack of animal poems for children, was then illustrated by renowned picture book artists, and has now inspired the Munich publishing house Mixtvision to print a book: Ein Nilpferd steckt im Leuchtturm fest (There is a hippo stuck in the lighthouse).

We celebrate the book’s publication (20 August 2018) together with the authors Michael Augustin, Tanja Dückers, Heinz Janisch, Mathias Jeschke, Arne Rautenberg and Ulrike Almut Sandig as well as the illustrators Nadia Budde, Julia Friese, Regina Kehn and Michael Roher. And of course, with all readers, young and old, who would like to have something read to them or who illustrate poems themselves.

A cooperation of the German Academy for Language and Literature, the International Youth Library Foundation and the Lyrik Kabinett, with support from Mixtvision.
