The Autumn Conference of the German Academy for Language and Literature aims to host a lively debate on literary criticism. How is literature currently written about – in the feuilletons and in Internet forums – and what has changed? Are we getting in-depth textual criticism or lifestyle performances? And what do writers actually think of the “thumbs up, thumbs down” rating method?
At the start of the conference, renowned authors will present their “best-of” reviews and turn the tables by asking: What can we expect from a critical examination of our work?
