Debate on Europe – St. Petersburg

¿Russia in Europe – Russia and Europe?
Neighborhood in Europe – Perspectives for a Common Future

Since the beginning of the crisis in the Ukraine, the political relations between Russia and Europe have been profoundly disturbed. Recent studies indicate that the peoples of Russia and Germany are becoming increasingly estranged from one another. What can possibly help to lead out of this impasse? How do intellectuals from different European countries see their relationship to Russia? How do their Russian colleagues see the position of their country within a European context?

The planned discussions are intended to provide a forum for an open-minded debate, in order to consider the possible forms and perspectives of Russo-European relations. The speakers come from Russia, Belarus, Bosnia, Denmark, Germany, France, Lithuania, Hungary, Sweden, Serbia and the USA.
